In the second paragraph, line 7, the passage ‘ ... if they had renal hyperfunction, defined as a CCR>20 ml/min/1.73 m2 body surface area’ should read ‘ ... if they had renal hyperfunction, defined as a CCR>120 ml/min/1.73 m2 body surface area’. The complete and correct passage is below:

Children were eligible to participate if they had renal hyperfunction, defined as a CCR>120 ml/min/1.73 m2 body surface area, published in the October 2005 issue of Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation.

The authors would like to apologise for this error.
